One of the largest consulting firm’s which specialize in software security and quality, Cigital, has announced that it has confirmed the reliability and security of the RNG that PokerStars’ online poker site uses to shuffle cards, showing that the results either meets or exceeds best practices in generating statistically random and unpredictable values when dealing cards.
“Truly random numbers are the heart of fair online gaming,” said Cigital’s Gaming Services Manager. “Our assessment looked at the entire solution, including the hardware and the software, and confirmed that the output of the RNG is cryptographically random and truly unpredictable.”
Given the results of this inspection poker players everywhere should have confidence that there is NO doomswitch.
